How did you get started in the trade and when was it?
I’ve been sweeping chimneys for over 35 years and started by working for another established sweep.

What do you like most about being a Chimney Sweep?
Every job is different, one day you could be sweeping a chimney in a bungalow for a local neighbour and the next day in a multi million pound house slap bang in the middle of Mayfair. I think that I must have swept every space on the monopoly board including Brixton prison and the railway stations.

What is your favourite part of the job?
The variation of it all, different chimneys, different properties and different people.

What do you think makes you a good, trustworthy Chimney Sweep?
I have been working in this business for many, many years and have worked in places such as Downing Street, The Foreign Office and in Royal Palaces and suchlike, these jobs have required the highest level of security clearance. To achieve that status I can assure you that every aspect of me and my company have been rigorously checked and double checked.

What would you like potential customers reading this to know about you?
That I can assure them that I am always punctual and that any work undertaken will be carried out in a clean, safe and efficient manner. That any problems or faults encountered will be explained in a simple to understand way and that all advice will be totally impartial.

What music or radio station do you listen to in your van?
Mostly Radio 4 or Radio London.

Favourite book, Film, TV Series?
The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemmingway

When you’re not working what else do you like doing?
Relaxing in my garden or fishing.
